The Martini Shakers story began in 2001, with a performance at the Oasis in the Lakeview district In Birmingham, AL. We’ve been shakin’ it ever since with high-energy shows all over Alabama and the southeastern US.
Alabama has a rich musical heritage across all musical genres from traditional country to the soulful sounds of Muscle Shoals.
The Martini Shakers keep things close to those early roots, playing music spanning rock and roll, country, rhythm and blues and rockabilly.
Jory Heindel is the band’s founder and lead vocalist for the Martini Shakers. Bonus trivia: Jori is the tallest member of the band. He delivers wide-ranging vocals and doubles on rhythm and lead guitar. You’ll catch traces of Elvis and Hank Sr. in every performance. When not performing with the Shakers, Jory can be found weekly on stage in solo performances in and around Birmingham.
Billy Long is the heartbeat of the Shakers and keeps a steady rhythm on his vintage Kay upright bass. He puts fun and energy into his work. Cool on stage and in real-life, Billy’s slap-bass stylings are unlike anything you’ll hear on your radio these days.
Jason Johnson hails from Southern California, but joined the Shakers as lead guitarist and the oldest-looking band member in 2023. A published songwriter, Jason is influenced by all the West coast sounds from Bakersfield to punk, surf, rockabilly and blues.
